If you haven’t heard, United Airlines is returning to Africa after a 3-year hiatus. And the best part? It’s launching a NONSTOP route from Newark, NJ (EWR) to Capetown, South Africa! Beginning December 15, 2019 (& pending Department of Transportation approval), United will begin flying the Boeing 787-9 (Dreamliner)! The route will take 14.5 hours on the inbound and 16 on the outbound. It might sound like a long time, but with nearly 8000 miles between the destinations, it’s an amazing feat!
We are so excited about this bit of news and can’t wait for it to become a reality! Flying to Africa can be a long and exhausting process (with connections & layovers it can take well over 24 hours to reach your final destination). This new nonstop route (especially from our home airport) couldn’t have come at a better time (as we are anticipating going on a Safari next year)!
We’ll be keeping a close eye on this development and will update this article as more news emerges.
Are you as excited as us about this new route?
