Milano Malpensa has become somewhat of a second home airport for us over the last few years. We fly into the Malpensa a few times a year and can navigate the airport with our eyes closed. We are often asked what is the best way to get from Milano Malpensa to city center, so we thought we would share a quick guide for all of you.
Since “best” depends on one’s preference (quickest, cheapest, most comfortable, etc.), here are the need to know on all four options. Our preferred and most used method has always been the bus (Malpensa Shuttle).
Transportation Options

Taxi
Route: Malpensa to Milano Centrale
Cost: 90 €
Duration: 50 minutes
Location: outside of Gate 6, Ground floor, Arrival, in Terminal 1 ; outside of Gate 4, Ground floor, Arrival, in Terminal 2
Be sure to take the white taxis because they are official and metered.

Uber
Route: Malpensa to Milano Centrale
Cost: 25 € (subject to change depending on time, availability and type of car)
Duration: 45 minutes
Train
Route: Malpensa Terminal 1 to Milano Centrale
Cost: 13 €
Duration: 52 minutes
Location: Terminal 1 on level -1.
To transfer from Terminal 2 to Terminal 1, take free shuttle, runs 24 hours a day, every 7 minutes during the day and every 30 minutes during the night (from 22:45 to 5:15).

Bus
Route: Malpensa Terminal 1 and 2 to Milano Centrale
Cost: 8 €

Location: Outside of Gate 4 in Terminal 1
Purchase ticket: from the bus driver (cash only) or at the airport terminal (Terminal 1: desk after baggage claim between doors 3 and 4; cash or credit card).
